As we check off the boxes and move through the baseball off-season, one of our favorites is the promo schedule release. Sure, it is subject to change. Sure, I’d go to baseball without the tchotchkes and “theme nights,” but it’s nice to picture how the season will unfold. It can be important to decide which single games to purchase if you’re not a Season Ticket Member. In the past, we’d have a draft where the kiddos could pick which games they wanted. And now, it’s the first step towards deciding which game to go to on the many, many overlap weeks between the Reading team and the ‘Pigs.
I’ll attach the media release of the schedule at the end–you may have already seen it released elsewhere. But to make this post a bit different, let’s take a look at how it will all play out, home stand by home stand. And remember, some of this could change and more promos could get added.

*Yes, it appears only one bobblehead, we don’t know who it is, and we have to wait until the end of the season. Not ideal. I suppose more could be added if sponsors step up and production time isn’t prohibitive.
Discussion: That’s a pretty impressive schedule to be released on January 15, really. There are areas where it could be filled out even more–and the weekly regulars are just as significant as the giveaways and themes. I believe you may be able to purchase single game tickets right away–at least for select baseline seats. That kind of takes away from “Pig Day” somewhat, but hey, here we are in the digital age, so why not?
Up Next: The Phillies Winter Caravan makes a Lehigh Valley stop on Thursday, January 18 down at ArtsQuest. RHP Orion Kerkering, Manager Rob Thompson, OF Brandon Marsh, and former IronPig great Jorge Velandia are expected to be there.
“National Pig Day” observation looks to be Saturday, March 2. Although, that hasn’t been officially announced yet. I already have it on my calendar as a day to head out to the park and greet the baseball people and pick up the season ticket holder gift and perhaps another yard sign in anticipation of the season.
