The IronPigs announced their 2026 Home schedule today. Game times and promotions will come later, but now we know the weeks and the opponents for games at Coca Cola Park.
First, no special opponents. No Iowa or St Paul or even Indianapolis. Toledo and Columbus are as fancy as we can get. Oh, and Durham. We get Durham.
The Away schedule hasn’t been released yet, so travel is a bit unknown. There’s a back-to-back and a two-weeks-away, but only one of each, and the away seems to be coupled with the All Star Break. They should finish on the road. There doesn’t seem to be any scheduled doubleheaders at home.
Big Days At Home: Memorial Day Weekend, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day
Big Days On The Road: Easter, July 4 Weekend, Labor Day Sunday
MusikFest: Only overlaps opening weekend of the ‘Fest.
Likely Education and Camp Days (just guessing): May 5, May 19, July 28. (Aside: Do they want to burn Cinco de Mayo for Education Day? With so few games in July do they really want one to be the camp day? Could they get creative and spot these somewhere else?)
July 4 week/weekend: Don’t think they gave this up too willingly–but I bet you’ll see banana ball or cosmic takeover that week in addition to Fourth on the Field as per usual. The park won’t be empty. Trust me.
Conclusions: It’s pretty basic. No cool opponents. Really light July in exchange for a big June and the two best weeks of August. March games again, but we get to open the season. We’ll know more when the game times and road schedules are released. And for me, I’ll look forward to meshing this with Reading.
