“Only you know how I loatheThis place called Tobacco Road”
– John D. Loudermilk, as sung by David Lee Roth
Looking Back
Two weekends ago, the Phantoms won two road games against tough opponents before coming home for a Sunday afternoon rematch, where Wilkes-Barre out-played them for most of the afternoon.
Then on Wednesday of that week, visiting Providence, the number one team in the entire league with the top goalie in the league, came to town to get trounced by the Hamilton Street Heroes, 6-3.
Last weekend, the Phantoms made the trek to North Carolina to take on the Checkers in back-to-back games. It didn’t go well. They jumped out to big deficits in both games, and couldn’t recover.
After the week off to re-group, these new-look Phantoms who are clinging to a playoff position, but would like to get out of 6th place to avoid a first-round back in Charlotte. And, they are faced with another 3/3 weekend. We start right here with Springfield tonight and Hershey tomorrow before heading up the Wilkes for a Sunday matinee at their place this time.

Player Update
- F Alex Ciernik signed his three-year entry-level deal which will begin with the 2026-27 hockey season. Reports are that he will not be joining the Phantoms this spring, as he did last spring.
- C Riley Thompson has signed a one-year entry level deal for the 2026-27 season. The big centerman from Ohio State will join the Phantoms on a PTO basis. We could use some depth at center, so we’ll see if he can jump on the moving train.

Springfield is in town. They are behind us in the standings, but have played us tough this season. And, if there’s a team to be knocked out of a playoff spot it could be us. Big game for that reason.
