Despite my lack of roster posts of late, nobody obsesses more about a Triple-A roster than I do. And, when I look at my list of 40 or so candidates, it will be something for me to try to place all the players I thought would have been here.
The glaring one is Mick Abel. I had him lined up to be the opening day starter on Friday, but reports from the Phillies suggest he will make one more minor league start in Florida before joining the team. Double-A and below don’t start their seasons for another week, so plenty of players are still in Clearwater–including probably Jim Haley pictured above.
The initial 2024 Lehigh Valley roster breaks down as follows. Players in bold are on Philadelphia’s 40-Man roster, ** denotes player who was here last season or before:

By my quick look, we’re short one guy, and no one has been added to the Dev List as of now. So, there’s plenty of room for transactions–even prior to first pitch on Friday.
