IronPigs Today: “Marshy, Marshy, Marshy” 4/25/25

“Did you see, they replaced Marsh?”

“Yeah, I saw they switched outfielders”

“Well, it’s Fergus batting second now, so I hope we don’t need more runs”

[Record Scratch]

Yup, that was me.  Up 4-0 and feeling good about myself.  Didn’t believe in Fergus.  Thought the game was in the bag.  Not a good look for this baseball junkie.

About Last Night

Home runs from Stubbs and Kennedy gave the IronPigs the lead, but a really bad outing from Devin Sweet gave it all away.  Lantigua with a sac fly in the 10th to tie it, and following a Crawford double, Fergus ended it with a 2-run smash.  de Geus with a two-inning save.

Status Report

The IronPigs are 17-7, on a four-game win streak, and 6-4 in their last 10 games.  They remain 1.0 games back in the league standings for the first-half title.  Jacksonville continues to win as well.

Visiting Columbus is no push-over; they had been tied for first place in the Western Division prior to their house of horrors at Coca Cola Park.  They now sit at 12-10.

LHP Ranger Suarez started Tuesday’s game and is on schedule to pitch for us on Sunday as well.  We monitor LHP Cristopher Sanchez in Philadelphia, though, because an injury-list stint could change plans.

OF Brandon Marsh should be here through the weekend, although his playing schedule is not known for sure.
