One last Happy Hour Game for the IronPigs faithful before we put the 2025 season to bed. Oh, and a pretty nice pitching match-up to boot!

About Last Night
It’s true, there were too many guys left on base. And, the RAV4th Inning curse struck an inefficient Andrew Painter…again. At the end of the day, the team misses Rafael Lantigua. That’s it.
Painter: It’s in there. We said it before and it remains true. He was mixing pitches and missing bats and generally pretty successful until he got ambushed to lead of the fourth and then things kind of spiraled. Let him spend this offseason training to be an MLB pitcher rather than training to rehab a severe injury and subsequent surgery. We think you’ll see him challenge for a rotation spot in the Spring. We really do.
Lantigua. He did a lot for that bottom three in the lineup–keeping things moving and turning the lineup over. But we’re also missing Kemp and Wilson and Walton and Crawford and Cal Stevenson and Keaton Anthony and Carson Taylor and so on. We’ve had a pretty good team this season, but now we’re missing some pretty good players. Still, fun to cheer on Aidan Miller and Felix Reyes. And so it goes.
Roster Moves
No moves yesterday, but expect something today in order to get Griff McGarry on the team and activated. Perhaps it will be as simple as a Development List move, but we’ll see.
Syracuse: New York grabbed three pitchers from Syracuse today, and returned a catcher. None of the pitchers were named Kodai Senga.

IronPigs send RHP Griff McGarry. Once one of the big three, with Mick Abel and Andrew Painter, the shine started to come off shortly after his first promotion to Triple-A. Then they tried to make him a reliever (he probably is, but we digress) and some injuries popped up. Even as recently as this past Spring Training, things weren’t looking good for him. Then, in order to get him some work and also because they had a need, the Phillies put him in the Reading rotation early on this season. A funny thing happened: He looked absolutely great! For three starts. Then the old demons started to come back. Difficulty throwing strikes and missing bats. Way less efficiency. Then, an injury which was feared to be UCL. But he returned, and battled through good games and bad and took the ball every time it was his turn. His last couple starts have been pretty, pretty good. Let’ see if he can go into the offseason on a high note here. We think he may be a free agent following the season, so he could be pitching for his career tonight, to a certain degree.
Syracuse sends RHP Kodai Senga. Reported Probable. Senga went on the injury list with the Mets on June 13. Hamstring. In July he did rehab with Binghamton. September 5 he was optioned to Syracuse after giving up five earned runs on seven hits over four innings versus Miami. This will be his second start at Triple-A, if he indeed goes tonight. Last time out he allowed one run on three hits over six innings versus Worcester.
See you at the park,
@Kram207
